Development Platform Project
The Healthy Kids of Seinäjoki Development Platform as a regional strength and a source of business growth: this project aims to promote cooperation with and between businesses (B2B) and the City of Seinäjoki and third sector operators in order to develop and pilot new user-oriented services and products. The project particularly focuses on ways of promoting health and wellbeing among children, young people, and families.
Promoting the health and wellbeing of children, young people, and families is a growing global trend. The City of Seinäjoki hopes to contribute to this movement through innovative solutions stemming from PPP (Public-Private-People) cooperation in our region. The Healthy Kids project seeks to highlight sources of growth, raise awareness of the project theme within the region, and intensify cooperation between the various interested parties. The project will model and develop new means of promoting the health and wellbeing of children, young people, and families in partnership with local residents, the City of Seinäjoki, businesses, and other key stakeholders. Careful consideration is being given by the project to the scalability of both the development platform itself and the solutions it facilitates – to other towns and cities within Finland and internationally.
The Healthy Kids of Seinäjoki Development Platform provides companies with an opportunity to develop products and services in a genuine urban environment and in partnership with service users and consumers, as well as with other businesses and stakeholders.
Four models for developing wellbeing solutions and intensifying cooperation
Cooperation with businesses is implemented through four separate measures.
Activation workshops. The project organizes engagement opportunities in the area to raise awareness of the HKS development platform and build on the potential of growth sources.
Public Procurement Workshops. The City of Seinäjoki’s services and public procurement processes will be opened to companies in various sectors on the theme of promoting health and wellbeing.
Rapid evaluation of business proposals via the HKS model. In adopting the principles of user-centricity, the project will use a panel of experts to rapidly evaluate new and innovative business ideas or solutions at the product development stage that promote health and wellbeing. The experts involved include children, young people, families, and business professionals.
HKS Goes Global. An internationalization development path for companies with global market potential.
These measures are part of the Healthy Kids of Seinäjoki Development Platform as a regional strength and a source of business growth project, where new ways of promoting the health and wellbeing of children, young people, and families are modeled and piloted in cooperation with the City of Seinäjoki and key business partners. You can keep up to date with enterprise events via the Into Seinäjoki events calendar. The 2-year project is being jointly delivered by the City of Seinäjoki (communications and coordination), Seinäjoki University of Applied Science (R&D), and Into Seinäjoki Ltd (project lead). The project is funded by the Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia via the European Regional Development Funds (ERDF).
