Jae-Heon Kang is a professor of medicine at Sungkyunkwan University, College of Medicine. He received his M. D. degree, Master of Public Health degree on epidemiology and Ph.D on preventive medicine from Seoul National University, College of Medicine.
His contributions using his expertise in obesity has been honored by various government bodies. He has received commendation from Prime Minister for contribution to health promotion and obesity prevention in 2011, commendation from Minister of Education for contribution to Official Development Assistance in 2015, and Decoration for contribution to Health promotion of Koreans in 2017.
He is the director of “Class on the Move, Healthy School” Project.
His current research interests include the development of IT-BT combined platform technology for management of child-adolescent obesity, clinical effectiveness and cost-benefit analysis of surgery and pharmacotherapy in morbid obesity patients, development of mobile healthcare services in public health centers. Furthermore, he has been carrying out a national cohort study on child-adolescent obesity since 2005, funded by the Korea Center for Disease Control.

Päivi Mäki, MSc, development manager, THL, is a coordinator of the Finnish Obesity Prevention Programme. Her work focusses on contacts to municipalities and other key organizations and actors involved in work related to obesity prevention especially among children. She has been working in THL since 2006 in various expert functions including the development of child health monitoring systems in Finland and the use of register based data in monitoring childhood obesity. She has also long term experience as a public health nurse.
